Oak extract is high in antioxidants protecting all systems from aging. Its secondary action is a tonic for the autonomic nervous system, protecting neurotransmitters from oxidation, preventing or resolving depressive symptoms/states.

In the Restoring Immunity System:

Oak is used in microdose in Stage 1 as a tonic for the autonomic nervous system during short-term periods of unusual mental or physical stress leading to exhaustion.

In Stages 2 and 3, in higher dose, it can be used to support adrenals in addition to or along with Black Currant for periods of exhaustion.

In acute protocols, it is used in higher dose in combination with Black Currant to support the immune response during the first 24 hours of an acute cold, flu or virus before symptoms are clear.

The buds of this majestic tree are the source of the Oak Gemmotherapy Extract. This large tree reaching 90 to 120 feet (30 to 40 meters) in height and 18 to 20 feet (6 to 7 meters) in circumcircle can live up to 2000 years. Native to Europe and the Caucasus, it covers a wide range throughout Europe, excluding the extreme North and part of the Mediterranean region. Essence of light, Oak likes cool, deep, moist and well-drained, siliceous clay or clay-limestone soils. Its strong and deep pivoting roots ensure good rooting. Its growth is slow and the first fruits, the acorns, appear after 30 years. Its rot-proof wood is among the hardest. It lives mixed in association with other deciduous trees such as hornbeam and beech, but also elm, alder and poplar.

The name quercus is formed from the Latin terms “quer” meaning good and “cus”, tree. The old name “robur” means strength. The oak is therefore the good and strong tree. A mythical and sacred tree for almost all the European peoples, it appears in many myths, legends and traditions. Tree of Zeus for the Greeks and of Thor for the Vikings, it is one of the 7 chief trees of the Celts, the druids gathered mistletoe there. The Romans offered a crown of Oak to the brave legionaries, and in the Bible, it is from this tree that God spoke to Abraham.

It symbolizes solidity, uprightness and verticality, and gives vigor and vital force.
