In the Restoring Immunity System:

Thuja orientalis can be used acutely in the Restoring Immunity system but not often, as hemorrhaging is typically addressed in a more holistic manner. Its primary uses in the practice of Gemmotherapy have been allopathic.

Originally from Asia (Persia, northern China, Korea, Japan), eastern Thuja was introduced to France in 1752. It is an evergreen shrub 15 to 30 feet (5 to 10 meters) high, resembling Cypress. Its very small scale-like leaves completely cover the twigs, making them flattened. Its almost invisible flowers produce fruits in the shape of small cones with thick scales. It grows on acidic, heavy and humid soils in an oceanic climate.

The branches and leaves of eastern Thuja have multiple properties and have been described as polychrest. In homeopathy, this remedy is considered a panacea because its indications are so widely varied.

However, in excessive doses, through the action of thujone (ketone), Thuja can cause spasms and convulsions that can lead to coma and death in the most severe cases.
